The compost bin is divided up in three partitions, each holding one year of compost from the campus community. Every year, the partition which holds compost that are aged for three years is used up for the garden. The partition which was emptied from last year’s use is designated as “Compost Here” bin.
Significant contributors
A large part of the compost material has been steadily supplied by the vegetarian co-op (headquarter at 1st floor kitchen of Queen Ann). The Grind, the coffee shop in the Campus Center, also has been contributing their ..well.. daily grinds of coffee beans to the compost. There is a bucket placed behind the Grind counter, which needs to be carried to the compost bin regularly by the members of the community garden.
